We are not machines.

And the talks that land are the ones that finally name what that costs us.

We have been living and working inside systems that need us to behave like machines: consistent output, predictable performance, emotions managed out of sight, bodies ignored until they break down entirely. The problem is not that we fail to meet the standard. The problem is that we are trying to work against our nature rather than with it.

We are nervous systems first. Everything else is built on top of that biological foundation. When that foundation is dysregulated, everything built on top of it is compromised: our thinking, our decisions, our creativity, our leadership. Not slightly. Fundamentally.

For anyone leading a team or a company, the stakes are higher still. The leader’s nervous system is the nervous system of the whole organisation. The culture does not reflect the values document. It reflects the lived reality of the people in the room.

This is the truth I bring into every room.

NEUROSCIENCE AND WELLBEING

The nervous system science behind mental health, sustainable performance, and the way we actually work under pressure.

We are nervous systems first. Our thinking, creativity, decision-making, and leadership are all built on top of that biological foundation. When the nervous system is dysregulated, everything built on top of it is compromised. Not slightly. Fundamentally. These talks name what is actually happening under the pressure, and give every person in the room something they can do about it the moment they walk out the door.

Keynotes & Team Workshops

Beyond Burnout

Stress is not the problem. We have just never been taught how to navigate it effectively. This talk goes beyond the pressure to explain the science of stress and gives every person in the room a path back to regulation and recovery.

Regulate to Innovate

Chronic stress biologically closes the door on creative thinking. This talk opens it back up. Your team leaves understanding the neuroscience of innovation and with practical tools to access their best thinking under pressure.

Wired for Safety

Psychological safety is not a culture initiative. It is a nervous system state. When it is performed rather than practiced, trust dissipates, and team cohesion follows. This talk gives leaders and teams the understanding and tools to build safety from the inside out.

The Regulated Leader

The leader’s nervous system is the nervous system of the whole organisation. A dysregulated leader unconsciously builds a culture of survival. This talk changes how leaders understand their own impact and what becomes possible when they regulate first.

No two engagements are ever the same. Every talk is designed around your audience, your event, and your desired outcomes. Workshops and deeper team engagements are also available.

Women in the business arena

For women in leadership and business who are done adapting and ready to lead on their own terms.

In order to succeed, achieve, and fit in, we adapt. We perform. We drive ourselves to exhaustion. Our biology does exactly what it was designed to do: survive. But there is another way to navigate the business arena. These talks name what the performance has been costing, what has been buried underneath it, and what becomes possible when a woman leads from her actual self rather than the version the arena required.

Keynotes & Talks

Cyclical Leadership

Your natural rhythms are not a liability to manage. They are biological intelligence and the source of your most sustainable creativity, leadership, and power. This talk reframes what women have been taught to suppress as the foundation for effective leadership.

The Confidence Myth

Confidence has been misdiagnosed for decades. It is not a mindset problem. It is a nervous system state, and most advice about building it is solving the wrong layer entirely. This talk gives women the actual mechanism, one rooted in regulation rather than performance or pretence.

Reclaiming Ambition

Most women are either burning out chasing ambition or quietly abandoning it. Both are the result of trying to achieve in a world that doesn’t count our invisible labour. This talk reframes ambition as something that can coexist with everything else we carry.

Resurfacing

Everywhere the message is the same: improve, grow, fix, achieve. Underneath the concept of “growth” is the idea that women are missing something. But women are not broken; we have just been buried by adaptation and survival. This talk is about how we resurface.

Every audience of women is unique, and I design accordingly. If your event needs a different angle or a talk built specifically for your industry or community, let me know in the enquiry. Workshops and facilitated sessions are also available.

Personal Growth & Sustainable Success

What changes when you stop working against your biology and start achieving from the foundation of regulation.

Most of us have been taught that growth, achievement, and success are a matter of mindset, motivation, and the right strategy. We set goals, build habits, push through resistance, and wonder why it still feels so hard. The answer is not finding the right strategy. It’s understanding the biology that drives growth and achievement. These talks give every person in the room a different relationship to how they grow and sustain success over a lifetime.

Keynotes & Workshops

Real Growth is a Removal Process

We have been sold the idea that growth is about more: more progress, more skills, more knowledge. But what if growth is about doing less, and in doing less, we become more. Real growth is about pruning what no longer serves us and getting back to our essential selves.

The Neuroscience of Goal Achievement

Goal setting without understanding your biology is wishful thinking. This talk explains the neuroscience behind how we actually set and achieve goals and gives every person in the room a clear, science-based path from intention to getting what they want.

The Procrastination Problem

Procrastination is not about laziness, fear or lack of motivation. It is a nervous system response. Understanding this changes your relationship to it entirely. This talk gives people practical tools to navigate procrastination without relying on more willpower or discipline.

The Biology of Boundaries

This talk flips the boundary conversation on its head, starting with how your biology shapes your struggle to hold boundaries. You will leave knowing how to take your power back in relationships and why regulation is the foundation every boundary stands on.

This territory works well across keynotes, workshops, and facilitated sessions. Every engagement is designed for your specific audience and event format. If you need something built from scratch, that conversation starts with an enquiry.

Meet Sonya Stattmann

I have been speaking, facilitating, and working with individuals, leaders, and teams for more than two decades. Over ten thousand hours of direct coaching and hundreds of workshops, keynotes, and facilitated sessions across Australia and the United States: from intimate founder gatherings to corporate stages to TEDx Melbourne.

What makes the content different is where it starts. Not with mindset or motivation, but with biology. The nervous system science behind how we actually function under pressure, why we get stuck, and what becomes possible when we stop working against our nature and start working with it.

Every talk is grounded in that conviction. And every person in the room leaves with something they can feel and practice.
