It is National Stress Awareness Month and the perfect time to dive into some foundational education around stress & burnout. This 4-part series is updated every week in April with a new video on how to prevent burnout & effectively manage stress

As a stress management coach & corporate wellness trainer, I have supported thousands of people to effectively manage stress, improve their mental health, and prevent burnout. Understanding the root causes of stress and the difference between good and bad stress is important. Good stress can increase focus and improve our immune system, while bad stress leads to burnout and is detrimental to our physical, emotional & mental health.

In this 4-part video series on stress and burnout, you will learn:

Defining stress and understanding the roots of stress

Before we can effectively manage stress, we have to understand what stress is and what causes stress. This video dives into the roots of stress and why stress is a natural and healthy part of our biology.

This video lays the foundation for why we experience stress and some of the science behind stress and the nervous system. Understanding how our bodies are designed to work with stress is the first step to managing stress.

The difference between good stress and bad stress and what leads to burnout

Stress in and of itself is not bad. In fact, stress has benefits to our physical and mental health. In this video, we dive into the difference between good stress and a healthy stress response, and bad stress that leads to burnout. I break down the characteristics of good stress and burnout, so you can have more awareness of when you have reached your stress threshold.

How do we put a “brake” on stress, so we don’t reach burnout? We cover that in the next video – coming soon.

Why we can put a “brake” on stress regardless of circumstances + a simple tool

The good news is that we have the power to put a brake on stress regardless of how many stressors we are experiencing. Learning to regulate our nervous system is the key! This video expands on this concept and offers a simple nervous system regulation tool that you can use in minutes.

In the next video, I will offer 3 more tools for managing stress. Every tool can be used within minutes and is effective for managing stress in the moment, or can be used as a resilience practice to prevent long-term stress.

3 powerful tools for managing stress & eliminating burnout

In this video, I introduce three of my favorite tools for managing stress. What I love about these tools is that they are practical, can be done from almost anywhere, and take only 5-10 minutes to shift your nervous system. Watch this video to add a new set of tools to your mental health toolbox.
